Don't Just Drive. THRIVE With AI.
Meet Mel Donaldson
23 years behind the wheel at FedEx. A decade training drivers and running ready-mix routes in Dallas. Mel didn't write this series from a boardroom, he wrote it from the seat of a truck.

Mel Donaldson
28+ Years Driver & Industry Trainer
From the Cab, Not the Classroom
Mel Donaldson spent 23 years behind the wheel at FedEx, driving, training new hires, and helping develop extended delivery routes, before retiring and relocating from Florida to Texas. Retirement did not mean slowing down. For the past five years he has trained incoming drivers for a foreign-owned ready-mix operation in Dallas. Before that, he spent five years driving for a ready-mix concrete company, an industry with no fixed shifts, where some days start at midnight and others at 6am.
Across nearly three decades on the road, Mel has lived the reality this series is written for. 14-hour days, sometimes just two to five hours of sleep a night, six days a week. More than a quarter of truck drivers nationally report chronic insomnia, and most get well under the recommended sleep. He has felt that fatigue, and the quieter cost of time away from the people who matter most.

Why This Series Exists
This series was not written in a university classroom or a Fortune 500 boardroom. It comes from the seat of a truck, the cab of a mixer, and years of real-world experience millions of drivers around the country and around the world will recognize as their own. Mel has been married 14 years, and together he and his wife share a blended family of 8 children and 21 grandchildren. Building income that outlasts the job is not an abstract idea for him, it is the reason this series exists.
